ADAS Calibration

This isn't the early 2000s anymore! Most modern vehicles ship with Forward Facing Radar and Front Facing Cameras, these systems tie together to create Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. ADAS features are responsible for FCW (Forward Collision Warning), LDW (Lane Departure Warning), RCC (Radar Cruise Control), and AEB (Active Emergency Braking.) These features have been proven to reduce crashes in the US and are absolutely not a gimmick.

 

When you replace a modern windshield, the pre-determined distance for your camera is interrupted when it is removed from the housing, meaning the camera has to now relearn its position on the windshield, in addition to this, OE glass can have slight variable changes in viewing, and millimeter differences translates to inches or even worse FEET in computing logic. This all means that your car will no longer brake when its supposed to unless this is fixed, and UN-calibrated vehicles increase the risk of a car accident 10 fold.
